UDI Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday! Time for sketch challenge 199 on the UDI blog! Here is today's sketch.

I really like the finished project.  Nice and simple, but still pretty.  The card base and flagged strip is Very Vanilla.  The DSP is a sneak peek at the Festival of Prints DSP pack in the Holiday catalog available on August 1st.  I layered the DSP on Early Espresso card stock.  The sentiment is from Perfect Punches and is stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and adhered with dimensionals.

A Designer Gift Bag

Happy Thursday, friends! Today I have a gift bag to show you. This was sooo easy to create with Gretchen's tutorial!

 

I used some retired product in case I screwed up the first time.  ;)  I didn't, though, and it turned out great my very first try! 

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- none.  Ink- Marina Mist (sponging on the flower embellishment.) Paper- Paisley Petals DSP.  Accessories- Big Shot, Fun Flowers die, Blossom builder punch, Subtles glimmer brad, Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain, Crop-a-dile.

UDI Color Challenge 97

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another color challenge on the UDI blog. Here are today's colors. Nice and masculine. Lucky for me since I needed to make my brother a birthday card. :) 

 Here is what I created.   The card base is Sahara Sand topped with another piece of Sahara Sand embossed with the Square Lattice folder.  The image layer is Always Artichoke topped with Very Vanilla.  The sentiment piece is the same.  I sponged all the edges with Sahara Sand ink.  The tree and sentiment were stamped in Old Olive.  The sun was sponged with So Saffron.  That's it.  An easy, masculine birthday card for my little brother.

UDI Sketch Challenge 198

Happy Saturday! Time for sketch challenge #198 on the UDI blog! Here is the sketch.  I left it just as it was drawn for my card today.

Since yesterday was my birthday (I had my 2nd 21st birthday!  LOL), I created a birthday card.  ;)  I used Real Red for the card base.  Whisper White is the next layer.  I punched each end with the Scallop border punch.  The next layer is a piece of Summer Smooches DSP.  The sentiment from Curly Cute was stamped in Real Red on a strip of Whisper White.  I created the flag end with my 1 1/4" Square punch.  It's adhered to the card with dimensionals.  The finishing touch is a Real Red button with a Whisper White Baker's twine bow.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge 197

Happy Saturday! Here is today's sketch for the challenge on the UDI blog.

Here is what I did with it. The card base is Baja Breeze with a mat of Baja Breeze.  The mat was embossed in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The DSP strip is from Twitterpated.  The sentiment from Friendly Phrases was stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Naturals White card stock.  The finishing touch is a Cherry Cobbler strip run through the Big Shot with one of the Finishing Touches edgelits.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Happy Friday! Today happens to be the birthday of a male co-worker. He told me the other day that not only is his birthday this year a Friday the 13th, he was actually born on a Friday the 13th! Happy birthday, Don! 

Here's the card I'll be giving him today. I took my inspiration from the cover art on the latest CardMaker magazine. They used Washi Tape, but I used some retired DSP.  No bling and no ribbon.  Just a simple masculine card.

UDI Color Challenge 95

It's Tuesday and time for another color challenge on the UDI blog! Here are today's colors. (I didn't use Pear Pizzazz since it's retired.)

Here is the clean and simple Christmas card I created.  

 

 

The card base and image panel mat are Certainly Celery.  The background and image panel are Very Vanilla.  I ran the background piece through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder with the bottom quarter hanging out so it was left smooth for stamping. The sentiment from Curly Cute is stamped in Riding Hood Red. The focal image from Easy Events is stamped in Jet Black Stazon and colored with Certainly Celery and Riding Hood Red markers.  It's adhered to the card base with dimensionals.  I don't have any current Riding Hood Red or Certainly Celery ribbon so I improvised with Cherry Cobbler seam binding.  I think it goes quite nicely.  :)

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge 196

Happy Saturday! Here's the first sketch for July!  (Tammy is providing our sketches for the next couple of months.)

I left it just the way it was, but I added some scallops to the long panel.

 

It's really simple, but still bright and fun and summery!  I left it sentiment-free for now.  

The card base is Daffodil Delight.  The scallops are a piece of Real Red run through the Big Shot with the Large Scallops edgelit.  The DSP is from the Summer Smooches pack.  The ribbon is 1/4" stitched grosgrain in Daffodil Delight.  That's it.  Easy peasy.

Stamp to the MAX Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp to the MAX blog hop! We hope you are inspired by our projects using products from the 2012-13 Annual Catalog. You may have arrived from Edie Bunting's blog, you may be a regular reader :), or maybe you just stumbled here by accident! However, you found me, I'm glad you're here! I am stop #6 on the blog hop. (The blog hop officially starts at 8 am ET, so if all the links aren't working, try again then!) 

For my project, I created a stationery portfolio inspired by page 147 of the catalog and Linda Heller at www.stampingschool.com. The only 12x12 card stock I have is Bashful Blue, so that's what I had to work with for the portfolio. Comfort Cafe was my choice for DSP. The matching color listed in the catalog is Pool Party, but I think the Bashful Blue works fine, too. :) 

Here's a look at the outside.  I used the new  Oval Accent Bigz clear die for the main focal piece.  I stamped 2 of the images from Reason to Smile (available in July for just $5 with a $50 purchase!) in Bashful Blue ink and then sponged the edges.  The sentiment is from the new set, Trust God, and is stamped in Midnight Muse, a new In Color.  It's attached to the cover with dimensionals.  The strip underneath consists of a piece of Summer Starfruit, another new In Color, run through the Big Shot with one of the Finishing Touches edgelits, another new product, topped with a strip of Comfort Cafe DSP and a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding.

The inside is a piece of Comfort Cafe DSP.  The pockets are Bashful Blue and Summer Starfruit.  They're also stamped with an image from Reason to Smile.  

 

Here's a picture of the portfolio with the notes and envelopes.

Here's a picture of just the notes.  I cut 2 pieces of Very Vanilla into quarters and adhered a strip of Comfort Cafe DSP to the top.  Then I drew a line with my Midnight Muse marker for more of a division between the DSP and the card stock.
