UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

It's time for another UDI sketch challenge!  Here is the sketch.  I flipped it around today.  :)

Here's my card.  It's definitely not my favorite.  The card base is Peach Parfait.   The next layer is Naturals White that was embossed  with the Elegant Lines folder.  The DSP is from Paisley Petals.  The smaller piece of Naturals White is also embossed with Elegant Lines.  The image is from Four Frames and is punched out with the Decorative Label punch.  The corners of both pieces of Naturals White were punched with the Ticket Corner punch, and both pieces were sponged with Peach Parfait ink.  The label punch was adhered with dimensionals.

Happy birthday, Stephen!

Today is my little brother's big 4-0!  I don't know how he got to be 40 when I'm just 26!  ;)

Anyway, I wanted to make him a fun card for his special day.  I cut out the smallest star from the Stars #2 die in some fun, bold colors and glued them to a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I cut '40' from the Timeless Type junior alphabet in Basic Black and glued those pieces to the Whisper White, too.  Then I ran the piece through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I love the way it looks!  I glued the image layer to a layer of Pumpkin Pie and a layer of Basic Black.  I distressed both those layers along with the Old Olive card stock base with the Cutter kit.  I love the end result...a really fun card for a really special guy! I hope he likes it!  I know he'll like what's inside!  I got him a gift card to his favorite store in the world...Bass Pro Shops!  :)

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge #146

Today's sketch was an easy one.  I left it just as Carol drew it.  :)  I decided to use the UDI Color Challenge as well...Tempting Turquoise, Concord Crush, Certainly Celery and Basic Black. 

 

My card base is Certainly Celery.  Next is a mat of Basic Black.  The background piece is Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot in the new Houndstooth embossing folder.  Then I used sponge daubers to rub the challenge colors all over the embossed piece.  Two pieces of Basic Black 1/4" grosgrain were attached to create the perpendicular lines.  I stamped the large flower from Flower Fest on Whisper White in Jet Black Stazon and then used the same sponge daubers to rub color on it before cutting it out and adhering it to a Basic Black 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch.  The flower was adhered to the card with dimensionals.  A Rhinestone jewel provided the finishing touch.

Catalog CASE

Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! There are so many wonderful samples in the Idea Book & Catalog, I decided to CASE one.  It's on page 98.  :)  

My card base is Calypso Coral.  I ran the front of it through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder instead of using DSP.  The next layer is a piece of Whisper White run through the Big Shot with the Scallop Square Duo die.  The small piece is Lucky Limeade run through the Big Shot twice in the Stripes embossing folder.  I don't have the Printed Petals stamp set, so the flower is made with the Fun Flowers die in Daffodil Delight DSP.  I used my bone folder to curl the petals.  Rhinestone jewels in the center are the finishing touch.
