UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge #138

It's time for another sketch challenge on the UDI blog.  Here is today's sketch. I left it just as Carol drew it.  :)  If you play along, make sure you leave a link in the comments!

I dusted off one of my older sets, Inspired by Nature, for today's card.  The card base is Crumb Cake.  The mats are Chocolate Chip.  I used Naturals White as my neutral.  The card base and the small strip at the bottom were run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The card base and the Naturals White card stock was sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  The image was colored with Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake and Pear Pizzazz markers.  Pear Pizzazz seam binding ribbon is the finishing touch.

Embossed Thinking of You

I needed a card for one of my son's teachers.  She miscarried her baby, and I wanted to let her know how sorry I was.   ( I CASED a card I found on Beth M.'s blog.)  

The card base is Whisper White.  The mat is Basic Grey.  The top is Blushing Bride, and it was run through the Big Shot in the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.   I added Dazzling Diamonds to each flower center.  (You may be able to see the sparkle better if you click on the picture.)  The sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers and was stamped  in Basic Grey on Whisper White.  It was punched with the Wide Oval punch and layered on to a Lots of Tags die-cut.  The flower was punched from the Itty Bitty punch pack and finished off with a Rhinestone jewel. 

I hope it brings a little sunshine to her day.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge #137

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another sketch challenge!  Here is today's sketch.  I flipped it on its side for my card.  

I stuck with neutrals today.  The base and sentiment layer is Very Vanilla.  The mats are Basic Black, and the DSP is Newsprint.  I sponged the DSP and Very Vanilla pieces with Crumb Cake ink.  The layer under the sentiment was punched with the Scallop Trim border and corner punches.  The sentiment is from Full of Life.  I added a piece of Victoria crochet trim and Basic Black brads from the Neutrals package to each corner.  Both layers are adhered to the base with dimensionals.

Wedding in Purples

Today's card is for a co-worker who will be getting married on Saturday.  Her colors are cream and purples so that's what I used.  :)

The card base is Elegant Eggplant followed by Very Vanilla and Perfect Plum.  The Very Vanilla layer was punched with the Scallop Trim border punch.  The Perfect Plum piece was run through the Big Shot on the Lots of Love letterpress plate.  I used Versamark on the plate, and then I embossed the entire thing with Iridescent Ice.  The sentiment is from the Level 3 Hostess set, Occasional Quotes.  It's stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Very Vanilla.  I punched it out with the Wide Oval punch and layered it on a Lots of Tags die-cut.  A row of Rhinestone jewels was added underneath the sentiment.  It was adhered with dimensionals over a piece of Very Vanilla taffeta that I scrunched by pulling on a center thread.  

I really love the way it turned out, and I hope she likes it, too!

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

Good Saturday morning!  It's time to take a skip through the Sketch team's blogs and see what we created with Carol's sketch.  Here is today's sketch.  I flipped it on its side.  :) 

I used butterflies in place of the squares.  They were cut from the Beautiful Butterflies die and the Beautiful Wings embosslit.   Rhinestone jewels are the bodies.  I used a piece of Pumpkin Pie taffeta for the lines in the sketch, and I added a sentiment to the bottom corner.   Now it's time to head on over to Leonie's blog and see what she has in store for you.  If you come across broken or missing links, you can find a list of all of us at the UDI blog.

A Salute to the Armed Forces!

What a week!  Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!  WooHoo!  

I made this card for a challenge in an online group I just joined.  The card needed at least 2 circles, Real Red or Cherry Cobbler and a Congratulations theme.  What do you think?  Can you guess what occasion it celebrates?  :)

 

 

The card base is Real Red followed by mats of Whisper White and  Night of Navy.  The Night of Navy layer was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The circles were made with circle dies.  The scalloped trim circle border was made using the Scallop Trim border punch. (This was my first attempt.  Don't look too closely.  LOL)  The sentiment was printed in MDS (LOVE it!) on Whisper White and punched out with the Wide Oval punch.  That piece was layered on to a Lots of Tags die-cut.  Whisper White taffeta ribbon and a bow was the finishing touch.
