Saturday Sketch Challenge 125

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge!  Here's what we had to work with today.   I left the sketch the way Carol drew it, and just changed 2 of the rectangles.  ;)

Here's what I came up with for the sketch.  The card base is Sahara Sand.  Take a Sip was wheeled over the entire card base in Versamark. (I love this little wheel!  I can't believe I hadn't inked it up before now!)  The middle layers are Melon Mambo and Regal Rose.  The Regal Rose piece was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The sentiment from Favorite Thoughts (from a past mini, but not yet retired) is stamped in Melon Mambo on Very Vanilla.  The flower is from the Birds & Blooms sizzlit and takes the place of one of the rectangles.  A Very Vanilla taffeta bow takes the place of the other.  There are Fire Circle Rhinestone brads in the centers of the bow and flower.

Every Little Bit & a Sketch

I wanted to post a cheery card since it's going to be a sad day.  I'll be attending the funeral of my best friend's mom.  If you have a minute, send some hugs and prayers my way.

Another friend of mine is pregnant with a little girl.  :)  I had her in mind when I was making this card.  It's for the SCS sketch challenge from Tuesday.  The card base is Daffodil Delight.  The next layer is Basic Black followed by a piece of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and a piece of Tempting Turquoise DSP.  A strip of Basic Black covers the seam.  Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffeta adds just the right touch to the strip.  The teddy bear from Every Little Bit was stamped on a 1" square with Jet Black stazon.  I adhered the squares to Melon Mambo squares punched with the Scalloped Square punch.  Those are adhered to the card with dimensionals.  

It's a simple card but so bright and fun.

Funky Four Birthday

Happy Tuesday, stampin' friends! Today's share is a birthday card for a co-worker. Her birthday was yesterday. Yep, she's a Valentine's Day baby. :)

I inked up my Funky Four set for the first time. I got it FREE with my Sale-A-Bration order!  I think these mushrooms are too cute!  I inked them up with Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi and stamped them on Whisper White. There is a Rhinestone jewel on the Daffodil Delight mushroom.  The image is layered on Melon Mambo and attached to the card with dimensionals.  The card base is Whisper White followed by Daffodil Delight that was run through the Big Shot in the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  The next layers are Melon Mambo and a piece of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  A piece of retired Melon Mambo grosgrain and a piece of Daffodil Delight tafetta are the finishing touches.

Vintage Sympathy

Yesterday I took my daughter shopping for a dress and shoes to wear to her friend's Bat Mitzvah next Saturday.  We had a really good time, and we came home smiling.  Believe me, that is a rare thing! I'm sure those of you with 12-year old daughters can back me up on this. ;)   Unfortunately, when I got home I received terrible, shocking news.  My best friend since the 8th grade had lost her mother that morning.  We're not that old really, certainly not old enough to be saying good-bye to a parent (we both just turned 40), and my mom is her mom's age.  I'm still in shock today.  I'll be going to her parents' home this evening to pay my respects to her family.  I made some cookies and this card for her. It's not much, but it's from the heart.  I can't imagine what she's going through now.  

I CASEd myself for the card.  It's this one from back in July.  I just changed the colors and added lots of pretty pearls.  The bigger ones are from the Pretties Kit (retired).

Saturday Sketch Challenge

It's time for the UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge!  Here is the sketch from Carol.  It's nice and simple today.

Here's the card I created.  It's nice and simple, too.  :)  The card base is Crumb Cake followed by a layer of Pretty in Pink followed by a layer of Crumb Cake run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The strip is a piece of Crumb Cake bordered by a Pretty in Pink Dotted Ribbon punch on each side.  Two hearts from I {heart} Hearts were stamped in Pretty in Pink and punched with the Heart to Heart punch.  The hearts were adhered to Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink circles.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped in Crumb Cake on Pretty in Pink and punched with the Modern Label punch.  Rhinestone pearls were added to each end of the sentiment and the small heart to finish the card.

My Digital Studio catalog now available!

Stampin' Up! has just released the pdf catalog of My Digital Studio!  It includes all of the MDS software artwork (contained in the boxed-version) and downloads from the October 2009 launch through January 2011! The catalog gives a snapshot of the entire product line with artwork thumbnails followed by product details. Because MDS is regularly coming out with new artwork, the catalog will be updated every month and available to you on MyDigitalStudio.net in the just-added Resources section.  

Use the catalog as a resource to manage the downloads you have and which ones you still want to purchase. The catalog includes a box next to each download so you can manage your current inventory of downloads.  What a fantastic resource!

Pure Bliss

Good Tuesday morning! 

I made this card Sunday for a wonderful friend of mine.  I CASEd the fabulously talented Selene.  You can see her card here. 

I used Basic Black and Whisper White card stock.  The middle layer has been embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder.  The small Basic Black layer was punched with the Scallop Trim border punch.  The image from Bliss (FREE SAB set!) was stamped with Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder.  The butterfly was stamped in Elegant Eggplant and cut out with paper snips.  Rhinestone jewels were added over the body.  Glimmer brads in each corner finish off the image layer.  It is adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Lots of Love

Good Sunday morning!  I had quite a busy day yesterday, and today promises more of the same!  I did manage to make some time for myself, and this is what I created.  It came out just the way I saw it in my head!  Don't you just love it when that happens!  ;)

I used  just 2 colors of card stock...Crumb Cake and Real Red.  All the Crumb Cake layers have been sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  The background piece was run through the Big Shot with the Lots of Love letterpress plate inked with Versamark.  The long strip of Crumb Cake was punched with the Pinking Hearts Border punch.  The Crumb Cake layer under the heart was made with the Scallop Rectangle clearlit.  The heart was punched with the Full Heart punch out of Glimmer paper and adhered with dimensionals to the rectangle layers which were adhered to the card with more dimensionals.  The Glimmer paper is so fabulous!  I'm crossing my fingers that SU! comes out with more in lots of colors!

Saturday Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge!  Here is the sketch Carol gave us.  I tweaked it just a bit.  ;)  I needed a masculine birthday card, and here is the final outcome.   Not too bad.  

I started with a Night of Navy card base and a Cherry Cobbler mat.  I stamped the balloon from Crazy for Cupcakes in Jet Black Stazon on Whisper White several times using the masking technique.  The balloons were colored with Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Elegant Eggplant, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight markers.  The background was made by using the Color Spritzer tool and the same markers.  The Cherry Cobbler balloon was cut out of cardstock and adhered with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from Punch Bunch (SAB) and was stamped twice, once in Cherry Cobbler and once in Night of Navy.  I cut out the Cherry Cobbler center and glued it on the Night of Navy piece.  That was punched with the Scallop Square punch and adhered with dimensionals.
