Happy Monday!

Happy Monday...pretty funny, huh?!  LOL  Actually, it's a special Monday.  Today is my friend/upline's (Maxine Conrad) birthday!  Happy birthday, Max! 

Today's card is for a co-worker.  It's a bit late, so I used a belated birthday greeting on the inside. (It's not for Max, but hers is going to be late, too.  Shame on me!)  I also used some retired paper.  It's Baja Breeze and Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP.  Along with the old, I also used some new.  The birdcage and punch are available in the Sale-A-Bration catalog but only until Wednesday!

Sketchy Saturday

Happy Saturday morning!  I hope you are all feeling better than I am right now.  Spring has sprung and so has the pollen.  Oh my gosh.  My poor white car is yellow!  My allergies are kicking my rear!  I don't think they've ever been this bad.  Ok.  Enough whining.  On to the sketch.  Here's what Carol came up with for us.  I turned it on its side...big surprise.  LOL

I really like the way this one came together.  The card base is Whisper White.  The next layer is Pretty in Pink.  The next layer is Bride Specialty DSP which I sponged with So Saffron and Pretty in Pink.  The image is stamped on Whisper White and layered on a piece of Faux Suede Pretty in Pink.  I colored in the flowers and flames and stand, and then I glittered up the cake.  :)  The sentiment is stamped on another piece of the Faux Suede and punched with the Jewelry Tag  punch.  I used a rhinestone from the Eggcellent Eggs kit to accent it.  (Sorry, the kits are gone.)  The flower is more Faux Suede cardstock punched with the XL Fancy Flower punch.  I finished the flower off with a Jumbo grommet and a Chocolate Chip corduroy brad.  A piece of Pretty in Pink satin ribbon finishes the card.

Inspiration Thursday

It's Thursday again!  Time for the 88th UDI Inspiration Challenge.   Here's the picture Maria chose for us today.  Isn't it pretty?  I used the butterfly theme and all the white as my inspiration. 

Here's my clean and simple card.  I stamped the inside patterned butterflies from Flight of the Butterfly on cardstock with the matching ink.  They were then punched out with the Butterfly punch and glittered up with Dazzling Diamonds.   The card base was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The butterflies were adhered with mini glue dots to a piece of Whisper White cardstock that had been layered on a piece of Basic Black cardstock.   The butterfly piece was adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

Spring is in the air!

Happy Wednesday morning!  Today's post focuses on Spring and Easter.  I have seen these tulips made with the XL Bird punch all over and decided to make one for myself.  (This is the other workshop card for Sunday.  If you're in my neck of the woods, give me a call!  I'd love to see you!)  

I just love the final card!  It's so bright and cheerful!  The stem and leaves are from the tulip stamp in the Garden Whimsy set.  The flower petals are 3 wings from the bird punch, and they're sponged with the matching ink.  There is a piece of Whisper White on top of the card base that has been embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  Garden Green background layers really pop.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is punched with the Word Window punch and layered on a Modern Label punch.  Whisper White taffeta is the finishing touch.

A Sparkly Good Egg

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a fantabulous weekend!  I sure did!  I was able to get lots of creating done.  :)   Today's post is a card for a workshop on Sunday.  We'll be making one other card and 2 3-D projects as well.  I'll be sharing those during the week.

I just love this little guy from A Good Egg. Isn't he just adorable?!   He is stamped in Jet Black stazon on Very Vanilla and layered on Chocolate Chip.  I paper-pieced his shell with Sending Love DSP.  (My kids both said it looks like he's wearing pants.  LOL)  The chick is colored with Barely Banana and More Mustard.  The base card is Pretty in Pink and the DSP is another pattern from the Sending Love pack.  It's so glittery IRL. The sentiment is stamped in Jet Black Stazon on Very Vanilla and punched with the Large Oval punch.  That piece is layered on a Scalloped Oval punched out of Chocolate Chip.  A scrumptious piece of Pretty in Pink Satin ribbon is the finishing touch.  Is he as cute as I think he is?  ;)

Sketchy Saturday

Good Saturday morning!   It's time for the UDI Saturday Sketch Skip.  :)  Today's challenge had a twist.  We were supposed to use something from the Pretties Kit.  It just so happens I have a pretty full Pretties Kit.  Gosh, I was supposed to be using it?  LOL  

I decided to turn the sketch on its side for today's card.  My color palette is yellow, green and white...Barely Banana, So Saffron, Old Olive and Whisper White to be exact.   The card stock is Barely Banana and Whisper White.  I stamped in So Saffron and Old Olive.  Some stamping is full strength, some is stamped off once and some twice.  I distressed and sponged the layers.  The Very Vintage Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel made the background paper.  Vintage Vogue was used for the images and sentiment.  I used the Eyelet border punch on the small side piece and wrapped a piece of Whisper White organza around it.  The finishing touch is the extra challenge.  I added half-pearls from the Pretties kit to all the flower centers.

Inspiration Thursday

Good Thursday morning!  It's time for the next installment of the UDI Inspiration Challenge.  Here is today's picture.  I wanted to use the Daisies #2 die, but I remembered using it for a past challenge picture.  I decided to use Of the Earth, a Level 1 Hostess set instead.  I'm not thrilled with the final product, but here it is anyway. 

 

The card base is Apricot Appeal.  The image and sentiment were stamped in Versamark and embossed with White EP.  Some Certainly Celery photo corners and a piece of Certainly Celery Satin ribbon finish the card.

Sketchy Saturday

Good Saturday morning!  The rain is gone, and it's going to be a beautiful day!   Here is the sketch from Carol.  I used it just as she drew it today.  ;)

I pulled a piece of DSP from the Welcome Neighbor SAB paper pad.  The card base is Old Olive and the next layer is Rose Red.  I just pulled the colors from the DSP.  I finally inked up my Picture This set.  It's a Level 1 Hostess set in the Occasions mini.  The Very Vanilla layer under the lower sentiment has been crimped .  The lower sentiment layers are the Modern Label punch and the coordinating shape from the magnetic Movers & Shapers Punch Windows.  I used a square punch to make the banner at the top.  It's attached with an Ice Circle Rhinestone brad.

Vintage Friday

Happy Friday!  I have another birthday card to share today.  My MIL's birthday was yesterday.  This is the card I made her. 

The layout is the sketch challenge over on Our Creative Corner, although I changed it from a square. I used an In Color that hasn't seen much love from me...Rich Razzleberry.  I don't know why I haven't put it to good use before now.  It's such a rich color.  I ran half of the piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot in my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I stamped the sentiment from Happy Moments on the bottom of the same piece.  A piece of Rich Razzleberry punched with the Eyelet border punch is layered over the Whisper White.  A piece of Whisper White organza is wrapped around the punched piece.  The image is from Vintage Vogue.  I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry.  The small ones were stamped off once.  The leaves were stamped in Certainly Celery that was also stamped off once.  The image panel is popped up with dimensionals.   I hope she likes it!

Inspiration Thursday

Time for another Inspiration Challenge on the UDI blog.  I used the nature theme and color from today's picture for my project.  I didn't want to do the obvious, so I steered away from a St. Patrick's Day card.  I created a Spring box instead.  :)

I used the Bitty Box die-cut in the Big Shot.  The flowers are from the Eggcellent Eggs kit.  I added Soft Subtles brads to the centers of the flowers.  Certainly Celery satin ribbon and Hemp twine are wrapped around a piece of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The tags are from the Tiny Tags set and are punched with the Small Jewelry punch and tied on to the twine.

Birthday Bling

Happy Wednesday!  It's halfway to the weekend!  ;)

Today's post is a birthday card for an aunt.  It also qualifies for this week's LateNightStampers' challenge for bling!  There is glitter on the DSP background and the DSP paper-pieced gifts, and there are rhinestones (from the Eggcellent Eggs kit) on the sentiment.   The image layer is a die-cut from the Two Tags die.  The gifts are from Happy Moments and the sentiment is from Vintage Labels, both SAB sets you can earn for FREE!  The image layer and all the sentiment layers are sponged with Real Red ink.  It's attached to the card with dimensionals.  I found the layout while blog surfing, and it stuck in my head.  Of course, now I can't find the blog.  ACK!

Manic Monday

Good Monday morning!  I am hoping to get back to daily postings.  Things have been a little hectic lately, but I am determined to get myself back on track.  I will be turning 40 in July, and I have been a little freaked out by the whole thing.  Life seems to be flying right by me while I'm trying to get a handle on it.  

Today's card seems to fit right in with my mood these days.  I think it would make a nice masculine birthday card with just a change of sentiment.   The card base and the sentiment layer is Sahara Sand.  The background layers are Soft Suede.  The DSP is the Welcome Neighbor pack (FREE during SAB!).   I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede and then added some splats with one of the Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamps with Soft Suede stamped off once.  No bling or ribbon.  Simple and easy.

The makeover is complete

Happy Sunday evening!  I have finished my blog makeover.  What do you think of it?  I used My Digital Studio for the blog banner and background.  Bermuda Bay (it's all the same color...I just changed the opacity) was just the ticket.  I needed some bright color.  I am so ready for the end of winter.  This is the coldest, longest winter I remember.  Yuck!

I should be back with a card tomorrow.  I'm charging my camera battery as I type.  :)

Haitian Relief Results

Once again, Stampin′ Up! demonstrators and customers have shown what Stampin′ Up! is all about by making a difference in the lives of others.
