Inspiration Thursday

Happy New Year's Eve!  Tomorrow is the beginning of a brand new year!  I can hardly believe it!

Today is Thursday so that means it's time for another Inspiration Challenge on the UDI blog.  I went with the theme of today's picture.  ;)  I don't have any stamps to go with the theme, so I used MDS to create my project today.  I just LOVE this program!!

I {heart} sneak peeks!

Hello!  Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe Friday is 2010?  You know what that means, don't you?  There are only 6 days left before Sale-A-Bration and the Occasions Mini go live!  WooHoo!  Today's card is a sneak peek of a few things that will be available on January 5, 2010.

The DSP is from the Holiday Mini.  It's Christmas Cocoa, and it's not just for Christmas.  You can order from the Holiday Mini until Monday, January 4th.  The image is from an upcoming set, I {heart} Hearts.  The sentiment is from an upcoming set, Vintage Vogue.  The Whisper White scalloped paper will also be available on the 5th.  It's called Sending Love Notes- Hugs.  Love it!  I rounded all the corners on the card base and added brads to the corners of the Hugs paper.  That piece is adhered with dimensionals.  I am really pleased with the end result.  It's simple but elegant.

Sketchy Saturday #63

Good morning!  I hope you all had a marvelous time with family and friends yesterday!  I sure did!

I used today's sketch turned on its side for a Christmas Thank You card.  There was a surprise challenge today to use our favorite colors.  I love non-traditional colors for Christmas cards, but my favorite color combo for Christmas is Real Red and Old Olive so that's what I used.  :)   I ran the cardstock through the Big Shot on the Perfect Details Texturz plate after I had glued the Old Olive to the Real Red.  I punched 3 Jumbo Snowflakes out of Whisper White.  They are adhered to the card with Clear Rhinestone brads.  The sentiment is punched with the Word Window punch and Modern Label punch and is also adhered with Clear Rhinestone brads.

Christmas Eve Inspiration

Happy Christmas Eve!  How in the world did it get here so fast??  My kids think this has been the longest week ever, and I think it has been the shortest!  LOL

On to the Inspiration challenge.   I finally got all my Christmas cards made and mailed, so I went another way today.  I used the butterflies on the tree as inspiration.  I used 2 new stamps.  :)  One is the single stamp, Dot Dot Dot, and the other is the set, Vintage Vogue.  They will both be available on January 5th in the Occasions mini catalog.  I also used the Butterfly punch which I have been neglecting.  I stamped the Dot Dot Dot stamp on Whisper White in Bermuda Bay twice and punched out 2 butterflies.  One is adhered completely to the Whisper White layer, and the other is only adhered in the middle with a mini glue dot.  The dots are all dusted with Dazzling Diamonds, and the edges of the top butterfly are inked in Bermuda Bay.  It's a simple card which is just what I needed today.  ;)

Finally Friday!

Happy Friday!  Today is the last day of school for my kiddos until next year.  ;)  Today's post is the little treats my daughter is taking to her teachers.  (My son refused to participate.  I guess it's not cool to bring your teachers stuff when you're a 7th-grader.)

The box is the Sizzix die, Box #2, and it's filled with Hershey's Nuggets.  The coaster calendar is made with all retired DSP and retired ribbon.  There's a magnet on the back so it can be placed on a file cabinet.  I hope they enjoy their treats.

Inspiration Thursday

Hello!  I'm writing this on Wednesday night and scheduling it to post at midnight.  Please forgive me if I ramble.  My poor brain is trying to recuperate.  I've been helping my 6th grader study for her Math mid-term exam.  I think it's been a few years since I was in 6th grade.  LOL

Anyway...

Since my brain is still recuperating, I took the easy way out tonight.  I made a pretty box  like the one on the table except mine is for candy instead of candles.  ;)  It's the Fancy Favor box with a snowflake sizzlet die-cut out of the front panel.  I used Whisper White inside and a Clear Rhinestone brad in the center.  Easy peasy, but oh so cute.  Love that Fancy Favor box die!

Snow Swirled Monday

Today's project highlights the stamp set, Snow Swirled.   I made this for a friend who celebrates Hannukah.  I don't have any Hannukah stamps, so I just went with a winter theme.  I stamped the snowflakes on a piece of Whisper White in Platinum shimmer paint and different shades of blue.  I layered the image panel on Brushed Silver and Night of Navy.  I used some Frost White shimmer spray on all the panels.  It is so shimmery IRL.  I wrapped some Silver elastic cord around those layers and adhered them to a Whisper White card base with dimensionals.  The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy.

Stamps- Snow Swirled.  Ink- Night of Navy, Bordering Blue.  Paper- Whisper White, Night of Navy, Brushed Silver.  Accessories- Platinum shimmer paint, Silver elastic cord, Frost White shimmer spray, dimensionals.

Sketchy Saturday

Time for another Saturday Sketch Challenge!  Today's challenge includes an extra little something.  Along with the sketch, we had to watercolor our image.  I pulled out my Watercolor Wonder crayons and blender pens and went to work.

I stamped my Kraft card base with the snowflakes from the Level 2 Hostess set, Christmas punch, in Versamark.  I used Merry Moments DSP for the 2 layered panels.  I stamped the tree from Jolliest Time of the Year in Stazon.  I colored it with my Bold Brights crayons and blender pen.  I added some Champagne Mist shimmer paint to the garland and some Dazzling Diamonds to the snow.  A ribbon knot finishes off the card.

Inspiration Challenge #73

Good Thursday morning, friends!  It's time for another Inspiration Challenge on the UDI blog.  You can find a link to all the team members' creations here.

I made some shimmer mist with rubbing alcohol and Frost White shimmer paint for the focal piece and the sentiment.  You may be able to see it better if you click on the picture.  It's so pretty IRL.  I embellished the Snow Swirled Christmas tree with some Circle rhinestones.  The image panel as well as the sentiment are attached with dimensionals.  This is definitely a card to be hand-delivered.  :)

Origami stocking

Good Monday morning!  Today's project is from a tutorial shared in Dawn's UStamp YearEnd Blowout!  You can still join in the fun.  Just click on the blinkie at the top of my sidebar.

This is so cute and can be a card, gift card/certificate holder or treat holder.  I made this first one with a piece of retired DSP (Ski Slope) just in case I didn't get it quite right the first time.  The tutorial directions and pictures were great, though, and this one turned out just right.  :)

Bat Mitzvah Gift

Happy Sunday!  Today is going to be quite chilly down here in sunny Florida.  I'm sure it's because we are celebrating my son's 13th birthday with his friends outside at the park.  I am such a Florida girl.  I'm sure I will freeze since it's going to be in the 50s in the morning.  :)

Today I'm showing you the gift and box that coordinate with the Birthday/Bat Mitzvah card I posted yesterday.  I bookmarked the idea over a year ago knowing I'd need it now.   I found the patterns on Nichole Heady's blog.  There is a money book and a box to present it.  It was so easy to make, and I think it turned out beautifully.  :)   Everything is Stampin' Up! except the Torah image.  That is clip art.  I used MDS to create my sentiment.  I wanted to make sure it would fit in the Wide Oval punch, so I typed it up and added the punch image.  Perfect!  I printed it on Vellum card stock and embossed it with Silver EP.

Saturday Sketch Challenge

WooHoo!  It's Saturday!  Time for another UDI Sketch Challenge.  Carol went easy on us and didn't give us any surprises this week.  :)  (Don't tell her, but I love it when she adds the extra stuff!  LOL)  Here is today's sketch.  I used it to make a birthday card for a friend's daughter's Bat Mitzvah today.  The invitation was shimmery white, shimmery pink and black so I used that same color scheme for the card, the gift box and enclosure.  I'll show you the other projects tomorrow.  ;)

The card base is Pretty in Pink.  The next layer is Basic Black.  On top of that, I added a piece of Bride specialty paper that I sponged with Pretty in Pink.  The image is stamped in Versamark on Shimmery White and embossed with Black EP.  I sponged the whole thing with Frost White shimmer paint.  It is so pretty IRL.  A piece of Whisper White satin ribbon is the finishing touch.  I used my candle lighter on the ends of the ribbon to stop the fraying.

I tried to make it elegant for her.  Did I succeed?  Let me know what you think.

Fabulous Friday and Finial Press

What a title, huh?  LOL  It refers to the fact that today is Friday!!!!  WooHoo!  Also, my card for today uses Finial Press so that's where that comes in to play.  ;)

Anyway...today's card was made for an aunt's anniversary.  I am so happy with the outcome!  I used the Finial Press embossing folder and a chipboard oval to get the background.  The Very Vanilla hearts were punched and embossed and sponged with Champagne Mist shimmer paint.  The larger hearts and the larger Modern Label are from the Movers & Shapers dies.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was punched with the Word Window punch.  The finishing touch is a piece of Chocolate Chip taffeta.

Inspiration Challenge #71

Good Thursday morning!  You know what that means.  Another inspiration challenge on the UDI blog.

I took the picture literally this week, and I tried to recreate it.  I'm not sure about the final outcome.  I wanted the reindeer to be the focal point, so I guess it came out the way I planned it.  LOL    I stamped, embossed and masked Dasher first.  Then I stamped, embossed and glittered the trees.  I added some glitter snowflakes and a small red bow to finish off the card.  What do you think?

Stenciled Birthday Thoughts

Happy Wednesday!  We're halfway through the work week!  Friday is right around the corner!  ;)

Today's card is for a co-worker. The image is not a stamp, it's a stencil!  It's the small Kind Thoughts stencil from the Definitely Decorative catalog.  I sponged it in Real Red and then again with Champagne Mist shimmer paint. The shimmer is so pretty IRL. It's layered on a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock.  The Kraft card base was run through the Big Shot on the SU! exclusive Damask Texturz plate.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Chocolate Chip taffeta finishes off the card.  I hope she likes it.
