Here's a beautiful, SU! exclusive Fancy Favor box.  It's made with Stampin' Up!'s Window Sheets (thick).  After cutting it out with the Big Shot, I ran it through the Big Shot in the Petals a Plenty embossing folder.  I had to run it through 3 times to get it fully embossed.  It was so easy, and it's just gorgeous IRL.  It' going to my Stampin' Sister in a few days.  :)

Sketchy Saturday!

Good Saturday morning!  It's time for another Sketch Challenge on the UDI blog.   No surprises today, just the sketch.  :)  It's a great sketch for mass-producing Christmas cards.  The Christmas Jingle SSK is great for this, too.  I used a piece of DSP, an embellishment and a border from the SSK for today's card.  The sentiment is stamped with Chocolate Chip.  I used a marker to just use the word "peace" from the Four the Holidays sentiment.

Happy Black Friday!

Happy Black Friday!  I hope all my USA stampin' friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday!  Did you venture out shopping this morning?  We did.  This was my first experience at the craze.  My kiddos had some birthday money they wanted to spend, so we ventured out to the neighborhood GameStop this morning at 6 am.  The first one was jam-packed so we went to the one just down the street.  (There's one right across the street in the mall, too, but there was no way I was going there! LOL)  The 2nd one was busy, but not like the first one.  We stood in line to trade some games and buy some more, and for my daughter to get a DSi bundle.  After all that fun, we went to our Super Walmart since we were close anyway.  I needed to buy the always fun paper products.  ;)  I also bought a new microwave since ours went kaput last week.  My son also got a new winter coat (he may need it for a few days down here LOL) for just $7.00.  What a deal! The electronics department had some shoppers, but the grocery department was empty.   All in all, my first experience wasn't bad.   Of  course, I wasn't there at the crack of dawn when Walmart opened and people were trampled buying $59.00 TomTom GPSes.  (That's what the cashier told us!  Yikes!)

Anyway, on to paper crafting!  :)  Today's card is one I made after watching a ribbon weaving video on You Tube.  It was fun, and it didn't take very long.  I really like the way it turned out, don't you?  I tried it with 5/8" grosgrain, but it didn't work as well as the 1/4" grosgrain.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's time for another UDI Inspiration Challenge.  Here is today's picture...a beautiful Thanksgiving place setting.    I needed to make a card for our Thanksgiving host and hostess, and today's picture was perfect. I picked out Really Rust from the flowers, Mellow Moss from the plates and napkins and More Mustard in the glass.  It is a wonderful coincidence that the colors in the Autumn Traditions DSP coordinate with this picture.

The Really Rust layer was run through the Big Shot with the Distressed Texturz plate.  The sentiment is from Holiday Best and was colored with markers.  It was punched with the Wide Oval punch and sponged with More Mustard.  I adhered it to a Lots of Tags die-cut and popped it up with dimensionals on  of a piece of Chocolate Chip taffeta.  The taffeta covers the seam from the cardstock and the Autumn Traditions DSP.

ACK! A teenager!

Good morning!   Thirteen years ago this morning, I was in the hospital having an emergency c-section.  It seemed my son wanted to come into the world just in time for Thanksgiving even though he wasn't scheduled to arrive until New Year's Day. He hadn't even bothered to get turned the right way (the reason for the emergency c-section).  ;)  Here he is at just a day old.  I remember being in the hospital like it was  yesterday.  Where does the time go?  *sigh*

Here is the birthday card I made for him.  I used My Digital Studio to make my own DPS.  I just printed the number 13 in a bunch of different fonts onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped a chocolate birthday cupcake from Party Hearty and punched it out with the Small Tag punch and layered it onto a Large Tag punch.  There is no ribbon, no glitter, no bling.  Just an easy, peasy boy card.

He and his sister and I are going to spend the day together and have lots of fun.  Tonight we'll all go out to dinner (he picked CiCi's), and then it's home for cake and ice cream.  He'll celebrate with all his friends after the Thanksgiving holidays.

Giant nugget box for my Stampin' Sis!

Happy Sunday!  Today I'm sharing a giant nugget box that I will be sending to my Stampin' Sister, Jen, who lives in Utah.  Stampin' Sisters is a great program through Utah Divas International.  We get paired up with someone for 3 months and send them goodies and get to know them better.  I love it because I have "met" some wonderful stampers this way.  Some of them I have even had the pleasure of meeting in person.  :)

Sketchy Saturday!

Good Saturday morning to you!  It's time for the next installment of the UDI Sketch Challenge.  Today's sketch is number 57 in the challenge.  Here is the sketch that Carol created for us.  Carol also threw in a surprise challenge for good measure.  Her surprise was for us to use window sheets on our project. 

Here is my card.  I flipped the sketch on its side.  I really like this color combo.  It's Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede.  The window sheet is the polka dot part of the Clearly Thanks sheet.  I placed it over the Bermuda Bay background layer.  The image and sentiment is from the Level 3 hostess set, The More the Merrier.  I stamped the snowmen in Jet Black Stazon and colored them with my In Color markers.  I added Dazzling Diamonds to the snow under them and also dotted it all around them.  It's snowing! (Hey...I'm a Florida girl...it's snow to me!)  I used some Bermuda Bay polka-dot ribbon and paper piercing to keep the dots theme going and finish off the card.  It's really sparkly IRL.  You'll just have to take my word for it.  It was tough to get a good shot of the card because of the glare from the window sheet.  ;)  (You can click on the picture for a larger view.)

Inspiration Challenge #70

Happy Thursday!  It's time for another UDI Inspiration Challenge!  I took the picture literally this week, and I created a daisy bucket.

I just love the SU! exclusive Fancy Favor box die for the Big Shot.  I made mine from Chocolate Chip.  The daisy was cut from Whisper White and the Daisies #2 die.  The petals were all sponged with So Saffron ink.  The leaves  were cut from Always Artichoke and the SU! exclusive die, Little Leaves.  The daisy's center is a 1/2" Circle punch.  I adhered the daisy to the box with dimensionals.  I ran some packing paper through my paper shredder for the filling.  That's it.  Easy peasy.

I am My Digital Studio certified!

No, not certifiable (although there are those who would agree with that! LOL), certified!  Stampin' Up! demonstrators had to attend webinars, take quizzes and create and professionally print a project in order to become certified.  I will be receiving a pin to wear, a button to display on my blog, a free embellishment from the upcoming 2010 Occasions mini catalog and 2 free MDS digital downloads yet to be released.  How cool is that?!  I just had to share my excitement with all my stampin' friends!

Hope Happens Backwoods Birthday

Happy Monday!  It's a beautiful day here in sunny Florida.  It started out quite chilly (to me anyway LOL) in the mid-50s, but now it is a gorgeous 75 degrees!  I love living in Florida.  :)  Anyway, on to the card.

It was created as a masculine birthday card for an uncle of mine.  He just turned 60.  I used Autumn Traditions DSP, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand to keep it masculine.  The colors are way off in the picture.  I don't know what happened!  The bird is from Backwoods.  You can find this set on the Dormant list.  The sentiment is from Hope Happens.  I received this set for free as a thank you from UDI.  I post to the UDI blog (find it here) on Wednesdays.  There are great projects shared there, and there are 2 weekly challenges.  Thursdays are Inspiration challenges and Saturdays are Sketch challenges.  I'm on both challenge teams, so be sure to visit! :)  (If you're a demonstrator and would like to join the group, shoot me an e-mail.)

Good Sunday morning!  Today I am sharing a card that my daughter made for her cousin's 2nd birthday party yesterday.  I have to warn you...it's not all Stampin' Up!.  *gasp*  I know...she uses whatever she wants on her creations.  LOL  She made this one all by herself, and her little cousin just loved it!

Sketchy Saturday!

Happy Saturday morning!  If you've been reading my blog for a while, you already know that I belong to a great group of SU! demonstrators called the Utah Divas International (UDI).  I'm a member of their Inspiration Challenge team.  Our challenges are posted every Thursday.  Beginning today, I am a member of the Sketch Challenge team, too!  The sketch challenges are posted every Saturday.  WooHoo!  I do love sketches!  I hope you'll join in and share your creations with us!  You can find the UDI blog here.  (If you're interested in joining a great group, shoot me an e-mail!)

Carol is the leader of the Sketch Challenges.  Sometimes she throws in little surprises for us.  Today is one of those times.  Our surprise challenge is to use punches.  Easy peasy for me.  I LOVE PUNCHES!  ;)  Without any further ado, here is my card.

You can see  I had no problem using punches...6 of them...along with the sketch.  LOL  I also used the Big Shot and a Texturz plate to make my own DSP.  I ran a piece of Cast a Spell (not just for Halloween) DSP through the Big Shot with the Small Polka Dot plate.  Then I sanded the entire piece to highlight the dots.  My image is from Pun Fun.  I stamped it, colored it with markers, cut it out and adhered it to a 1 1/4" circle that had been embossed with Iridescent Ice EP.  Then it was adhered to a Regal Rose 1 3/8" circle and a So Saffron scalloped circle.  The entire image piece was then adhered to a piece of Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain with mini glue dots.  The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped on Whisper White then punched with the Word Window punch, layered on a So Saffron Modern Label punch and then a Regal Rose Scalloped Oval punch.

Inspiration Challenge #69

Happy Thursday!  Welcome to the newest installment of the UDI Inspiration Challenge!  :)  Here is today's picture.  I was inspired by the layout and the colors.

I used the Medallion background stamp for my image.  I wanted to mimic the swirls of color in the trees, so I used sponge daubers to apply Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery ink to the stamp.  An Ice Rhinestone brad adds a bit of bling to the middle of the image.  A piece of Bashful Blue taffeta and a ribbon slide from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit finish off the card.  I left it sentiment-free for now.

Rockabilly Birthday

There sure are lots of birthdays being celebrated lately!  Today's project is a gift holder and matching card that my daughter gave her friend on Saturday.  The DSP is retired and the ribbon is non-SU!, but I wanted to share it anyway. 

My daughter made the ensemble (with just a little help from mom) for a friend who loves skulls.  The tote was made just like this one here.   The sentiment is from On Your Birthday.  A marker was used to omit the first part of the sentiment on the stamp.  :)  The sentiment on the card is called Birthday Wish.  It's a single stamp, and it's on the Dormant List.

Diva Sketch Challenge Saturday

Happy Saturday morning!  WooHoo!  I just love the weekends!

I needed a birthday card for a friend, and today's UDI sketch challenge was just the thing I needed to get inspired.  The card base is Crushed Curry.  The next layer is Rich Razzleberry topped with 2 pieces of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.  The sentiment is from Think Happy Thoughts.  This poor, neglected set was just what I needed for the simple yet pretty card.  I used the flower from Razzle Dazzle for the center.  I colored the stamp with my Crushed Curry marker and then used my Rich Razzleberry marker for outlining and the center dot.  It's adhered to the sentiment with a dimensional.  The Crushed Curry Scalloped Circle is pierced on each scallop.  A piece of Crushed Curry ribbon is the finishing touch.  Thanks for a great sketch to get me creating this morning, Carol!

Inspiration Challenge Thursday

Good morning!  It's Thursday again.  You know what that means...another Inspiration Challenge over on the UDI blog.   Here's my take on the inspiration picture.

I was stumped at first look.  I do not have the Totally Tools stamp set.  Then it hit me!  The stripes underneath all those tools!  That's how this card happened.  I decided to stay with the masculine theme, so there are no ribbons or bling on this one.  *gasp*  ;)

Birthday Medallion

Today's project is a birthday card I made for one of my very best friends.  We have been friends since the 8th grade.  I'm not saying how long it's been since the 8th grade!  LOL

I used the Medallion background stamp.  The main image is stamped in Soft Suede and the middle of the medallion is Melon Mambo.  The center was punched with the 1 3/4" Circle punch and embellished with a Jumbo grommet and a Rhinestone brad.  I tied a piece of Melon Mambo Polka dot ribbon around the image panel using the plain side of the ribbon. The bottom of the Whisper White card stock is punched with the Eyelet Border punch.  The sentiment from Heard from the Heart is stamped in Soft Suede. (The card idea was CASEd from the wonderful samples I've seen on the web.)
